Don't kid yourself. "The Apple Experience" was, is and will continue to be the end goal of Android as long as Eric is at Google. I Agree to an extent, at least at first when Android was released. But now, I see android as nothing more than what windows mobile is now. And it will share the same niche in the future. The iPhone will reign supreme even higher once it's on the other networks. (Sorry Math).

Don't kid yourself. "The Apple Experience" was, is and will continue to be the end goal of Android as long as Eric is at Google. You continue to use this phrase as if it had a hard defined meaning. Let me tell you what I think when I read "The Apple Experience". Sources point out that something is not right with the most popular ebooks on the istore appearing to be almost void of content. Apple says nothing. Then the story gets bigger and suspicions of fraud start going round the net. Apple removes the ebook from the istore. People demand to know WTF is going on. Apple says almost crypticly that maybe if you have an istore account you should check your credit card statement. "The Google Experience" as I see it. Google decides to map all the wifi in the world because information is cool and they like to give it to people for free (ie resell your eyes). They find out that in their effort to to do this they have accidentally collected bits of random packets from peoples unsecured wifi. No one at this point outside of google knows this. Google announced to the world their mistake, how they made the mistake, how they plan to fix it, and apologize. I'll have two servings of open and honest google experience please and a side order of free stuff I never knew I needed thank you.

I would push that further and say you have choices period. You can buy iPhone, HTC Android, Motorola Android, Winmo and that is the great thing. We all get to pick what we want. Android is a important platform to have. For competition and give geeks their phone to mold into their own. Just remember who gave you those choices. Without the iPhone (love it or hate it), this was your Android phone. "The Apple Experience" - not my words.

Because clearly the iphone invented everything and no one would have ever thought of anything without them. I would even hazard a guess that the iphone 7 becomes sentient and sends Steve Jobs back in time to be his own father.

Your right. Somebody would of thought about it and forced the carriers to accept full phone functionality. We can even pretend like it was even on motorola's radar at the time.

This is a awesome thread. I present two articles for debate that I absolutely loved reading. First Louis Gray explains why he switched from the iPhone to Android. Some of his arguments for Android have matched what has been stated here. I thought it was insightful. Be sure to check out the comments from Jesse Stay. I've meet Jesse as he lives here in Utah and is known as an expert in Facebook apps and Social Media. Google him if you want more info. He has a great blog. blog.louisgray.com/2010/07/why-i-turned-in-my-iphone-and-went.htmlSecond a reply from Robert Scoble. p00p and I have had the chance to meet Scoble and I personally enjoy his thoughts on tech. He agrees with the idea of Android in theory but still cannot leave his iPhone and gives his reasons scobleizer.com/2010/07/11/why-i-cant-kick-the-apple-iphone-habit/Enjoy.

You say this like I love my phone because it's a Moto. I was not a fan of Moto before this phone and I'm still not. I'll choose the best most reliable hardware available to me at the time I purchase my next phone just like I did this time. If Moto had put out the phone you pictured I'd be rocking an HTC probably.

I say that because you suggest somebody else would have thought up the iphone if Apple didn't and I agreed with you with the caveat it wasn't on anybody's radar using Motorola as the example because they were shutting down their cell phone business at the time.
Also realize that I don't care what phone you pick nor think that Google is a evil company with liars as CEO's as has been suggested about Apple. I believe they have lost their innovation and has to follow Apple which is unfortunate because they could do so much more with Android then what they are doing.

Planning on getting that game. efuse = efailSo the Droid X is awesome. I really want(ed) one. I saw Jakes and it's teh sexy. Nice screen ( unless this happens) and specs. No Android 2.2 at launch, but that's easy enough to fix right? No it's not. WTF was Moto thinking? Lets try to lock down the rev of the OS on our new phone and alienate the people who helped save us from circling the drain. Morons. I'm sure that someone will find a way around the encrypted boot loader, someone may have already. But this is just so lame for any android device maker to pull. Thanks for going against the values of the community rtards.
