I'm thinking Same Proc, Mobo and RAM as that above from the same place.
And thanks to the CoinStar machine and a gift certificate, I'll pick up an HD 3950 from Amazon ($299) and pay less than $50 out of pocket. I'll flash it to a 6970, as all reports say it's stable as hell and benching the exact same as factory 6970's.
If I pull the trigger that's all I'll get. I believe my current PSU should handle it (I hope). I have an old pos case to move the old guts to. I have one WD black 6gb that'll work for now. I'll wait until Feb and prolly score a 64gb RealSSD C400 for the OS drive.
That is, if I pull the trigger. That's just over $650 out-of-pocket (counting my $250 Amazon credit). That's still more than I want to spend right now. But I guess I could look into selling my q6600 crossfire system for around that. .. We'll see.
PS: I can't see any normal application where 16GB of ram could be used, can you? Unless you build a ram drive and run a game from it or something like that. IMO, your money would be better served in getting an SSD.
