They will nerf you into the dirt, greens will replace your year long daily quest adventures. Its good to realize these things before you get too super excited about uber spells and forms. You still have time to sell your account and bail before teh ship sinks in January. Expansion will be an entirely different game, nothing ever remains untouched with blizzard, also expect another revamp of defenses and a re balance of the entire damage structure. Expect either melee or ranged to get a bigger nerf than the other. Someone has to be negative nancy. or negative ned? since im not teh girlz. I agree with you, and I have thought about it. which is why I am saving my honor and leveling alts! No need to worry about replaceing my epic gear with better epics at this point. So far from what I've seen in WotLK, your epics won't be nerfed. It looks like level 75 gear is at par with Kara gear. I read once that they nerfed the raid players in BC to help balance it with the non raid players. Now with the Honor system and badges that doesn't need to be done. But we'll have to see what they do.

I've read that the DK is currently fairly OP in beta. And that all 3 talent tree's allow for decent tanking and dps. I may try to get a 70 on marji's account and start a DK on that.

It is a hero class, so being OP sounds right. I think you only have to have a lvl 55 on the account to create the DK, but I could be wrong.

My question is "if you convert a lvl 70 to a DK, will they drop to lvl 55 or stay at 70?" I think that it would drop to lvl 55 because that is what they've built the quests around for the starting. idk, my bff dk?

The converting a char into a DK was out last I heard. The DK will be a new char that is unlocked.

That is what I have also heard. As long as you have a level 55+ toon on your account, you can create a Death Knight who starts at 55 - but you will still have all of your original toons. I am hoping/assuming this means you can have over 10 characters, or I will have to kill one of mine (lotsa alts).

I thought it was a level 80 character had to complete a quest to unlock the deathknight class, once unlocked, you can create a lvl 55 deathknight, w/o sacrificing any of your toons unless you have 10 characters already, in which case you'll hafta free a slot up.

This is the latest I have read, but things are changing all the time: "Unlocking your Death Knight The Death Knight is the first hero class in World of Warcraft. This is a second and separate character from your original character and can be created as soon as one of the existing characters in your account reaches level 55. After making a Death Knight, you will not lose the access to any of your existing characters. The Death Knight will start at level 55 in Acherus: The Ebon Hold over the Eastern Plaguelands, with multiple spells and abilities ready to use (including a level 30 equivalent skeletal Deathcharger mount). Through the Death Knight-specific quests in this necropolis, the character learns to master the power of the Death Knight and learns to use this new power for their will. Quests will take them outside the necropolis and into an area within the Eastern Plaguelands. They will start with various greens and blues for equipment. Blizzard is currently exploring various options as to how the Death Knight will play and the types of abilities at its disposal, and they will continue to reveal information about this new class as they get further along in development."

I plan to get Bolg and Mormir to 75, then start a DK. I figure it wont be as full in the starting area that way.

This is how I felt when TBC came out and I was replacing epics with greens.
